Director: Guillermo del Toro Release Date: October 16th, 2015 Crimson Peak was an interesting movie. I liked it, but I didn't love it. People who have watched lots of Del Toro films say that this one was one of the worst out of his collection. I've only watched two others, but if this is one of the bad ones, I didn't think it was that bad. I think it's kind of weird that the sister and the brother were in a relationship, but maybe Del Toro did that on purpose because of the era. The whole point is that it didn't sit right with me. A part of his auteur theory are his extravagant sets, use of color, and monsters. Throughout this movie, there's a pop of red in tons of scenes. The ghost looked really fake, but that's kind of understandable because I feel like that would be the hardest to make look realistic. The plot was predictable especially when Edith (the main character) got sick because Lady Lucille Sharpe was poisoning her. Everything was so expected after that. It was good, but not great.
